GARDEN and Roads is temporarily closed.

Garden and Roads has suspended operations through March 2026. This decision has not come lightly. Over the past year, the financial strain on our small business has become overwhelming. Rising costs—particularly those tied to increased tariffs and sharply higher healthcare expenses associated with changes to the Affordable Care Act—have made our current business model unsustainable. As a small, independent florist and flower farm, we simply do not have the buffer to absorb these kinds of sudden and significant increases.

Garden and Roads is still committed to delivering beautiful florals for 2026 weddings We are evaluating whether Garden and Roads can continue—either in a revised form or, if necessary, close permanently.

Your support for the past 9 years means everything… You’ve celebrated milestones with our flowers, trusted us with your most meaningful moments, and helped us grow roots in the community. For that, I am deeply grateful.

We are a different from many florists…. We don’t have a store and we don’t have pre-made florals. We grown and incorporate locally grown flowers in our vase arrangements and bouquets! Our design studio is located at our home in Medford and we have several growing sites for our flowers.

how to care for your cut flowers:

  • Keep them out of direct sunlight

  • Even temperatures (keep away from radiators or the flow of forced hot air heater/or AC)

  • Keep away from fruit (especially apples, bananas as the give off ethylene, a gas that will shorten bloom time)

  • Change the water every other day

  • Give stems a fresh cut before they go back into the vase

  • Make sure your scissors and vase are clean before starting

  • Flower food/preservative will also lengthen the bloom time of your cut flowers.  As part of our ethos to use methods gentle to the environment, we do not provide little packets of flower food, because who needs the extra packaging when all it contains is carbohydrates (sugar), acidifier and anti-bacterial components and you can easily make your own. Here is a simple recipe:

    • 1 quart warm water (warm water helps the sugar dissolve)

    • 1 tablespoons lemon juice  or white vinegar (strained)

    • 1/2 tablespoon sugar

    • 1/4-1/2  teaspoon bleach – less is more with the bleach
